Tuzgölü OSB Infrastructure and Roads

The second-phase infrastructure of Tuzgölü Organised Industrial Zone in Aksaray was completed in 14 months. The scope included 38 kilometres of roads and pavements, 52 kilometres of sewer and storm water lines, 31 kilometres of water network, transformer centre connections and landscaping.

Because of the clayey, swelling ground, lime and cement stabilisation was used in the road foundation; this method both lowered the cost and shortened the schedule by 6 weeks. Laboratory tests were done every 500 metres on the asphalt work.

Results

The project was delivered 21 days before the contract period. Today 74 factories operate in the zone and the infrastructure serves without interruption. In the client satisfaction survey our project scored 4.8 out of 5.

Quality and OHS

Weekly progress reports, monthly payment certificate files and accredited laboratory test results were shared with the employer on the project. An OHS specialist worked on site full time, and daily risk assessment and pre-shift safety briefings were applied.
