Selçuk Plain Wastewater Treatment Plant

The civil works of the wastewater treatment plant that will serve a population of 420 thousand in Konya were completed in 2023. In the plant, which consists of aeration basins, settling tanks, a sludge dewatering building and administrative buildings, 46,000 cubic metres of reinforced concrete was built.

For watertight reinforced concrete, a crystalline waterproofing admixture and hydrostatic tests were applied; each basin was subjected to a 7-day leakage test when full. The plant's electromechanical equipment was installed by the employer's separate contractor, and coordination was done with BIM.

Environmental contribution

The plant produces treated water that can be used for irrigation and enables irrigation of 3,400 hectares of farmland on the plain.

Quality and OHS

Weekly progress reports, monthly payment certificate files and accredited laboratory test results were shared with the employer on the project. An OHS specialist worked on site full time, and daily risk assessment and pre-shift safety briefings were applied.
