Bozyazı Wind Farm Civil Works

All civil works for the 96 MW wind farm built in Bozyazı, Mersin were carried out by our company: 24 turbine foundations, 31 kilometres of site roads, crane platforms, cable ducts and substation structures.

Each turbine foundation was completed by pouring 650 cubic metres of concrete in one piece; the concrete was prepared with chilled aggregate for temperature control. On the mountainous terrain, roads up to 14 metres wide were cut and special bend solutions were developed for the turning radius of turbine blades.

Result

The civil works were completed in 11 months, and the first turbine was commissioned in month 9 of the contract. The plant now produces about 340 GWh of electricity a year.

Quality and OHS

Weekly progress reports, monthly payment certificate files and accredited laboratory test results were shared with the employer on the project. An OHS specialist worked on site full time, and daily risk assessment and pre-shift safety briefings were applied.
